Primary goals of the Tennessee River Basin Network are to harness the science and management expertise throughout the region to pool together resources and capacity, identify and prioritize key conservation issues and science needs to address as a community, and deliver cost-effective and efficient conservation actions to ensure the protection of this unique landscape for generations to come.

Landscape Partnership

The Purpose of the Science and Management Team includes:

  • Enhanced collaboration among natural resource and conservation agencies and organizations as well as broad collaboration with non-traditional partners such as industry, planning bodies, tourism departments, etc.
  • Efficient management of Tennessee River Basic natural and cultural resources
  • Targeted implementation of on-the-ground conservation activities by the Network that lead to greater results than could be achieved by any one organization
  • Value-added science and management efforts that enhance ongoing activities and provide additional capacity to support Network members' goals
